This chest is made with mortise and wedged trough tenon frames.  The panels are plywood to eliminate wood movement issues and they are veneered with cherry.  I veneered the interior of the lid with birds eye maple to break up the monotony of the cherry. 

Ebony provides some visual points in the lid's handle, wedges in the through tenons and as pins for the stile tenons.
