First Woodworking Project Ever! Entertainment Stand
I moved into a condo last year and got my very first garage ever, albeit a 1 car. My grandfather passed when I was 2 from ALS but was an incredible woodworker and until my grandmother passed, I'd spend trips to their house making my dad show me how the power tools worked. I decided I wanted to set up shop in the garage and get started by making a living room set. The design came to mind during my 45 minute daily commute and with inherited tools and some... creative... homemade jigs and a lot of trial and error, my entertainment stand came out better than I expected. The box joint was made with a router table and a bunch of stop blocks, so the precision left a lot to be desired. I made a rookie mistake and filled the gaps with wood putty, not knowing how bad they would stand out after staining. Overall, I was pumped with how it turned out, and obsessed with growing as a woodworker. Now I have to convince the warden (my wife, married 6 months) to up my tool budget! Enjoy this entertainment stand made of white pine and black iron. The side tables and coffee table will be coming soon! #manningfurniture+woodworking #1stpiece

Excellent work, Tom! That's a complex build for any skill level so good job on pushing yourself. I really like the design.
