African Mahogany Entry Table
I built this entry table to fit in an odd space in the entryway of a home. It was modeled after a design, but had to tailor the dimensions to fit the space while maintaining proportions. Mortise and tenon joinery. Finished in Varathane Stain, Arm-R-Seal, and lacquer.

Like every project, starts as a pile of boards.

Milling

I didn't show it, but I laminated boards to make the thickness for the legs. I aimed for as straight grain as possible to.hide the glue lines. Then they got trimmed to size.

Parts approaching completion.

Mortises. Nothing ended up in the wrong spot!

I utilized the "speed tenon" method for all the tenons.

Dry fit!

Love that grain!

Joinery, shelves, and supports all complete!

Quick and dirty tapering jig.

I used a cost of stain to give the mahogany "aged" tint to match and existing piece in the client's home.

Complete! Thanks for looking and joining me in my triumphant return to Simplecove!

Great work on the entry table! I really like the design and the shelves are a nice touch.
Thanks, Sean!
