My wife wanted a table big enough to sit the children and grandchildren around while sitting at the pool. 

I chose 8/4 yellow cypress for the build due to its rot resistant properties. The top measures 5’ point to point. I fabricated the base from 2” x 4” x 3/16” steel tubing in my machine shop. The assembled table weighs about 150#. The finish on the top is a hard wax oil from Sherwin Williams. The base revived two coats of primer and three coats of finish using rattle cans.
